My order arrived as 2 parcels. Why is this?
This is rare but may happen for the following reasons:
- As a small business we hold varying stock levels of the Brands we offer and we hold physical stock of pretty much everything.
However, If some of a Brand's range has a much shorter shelf life due to the more natural ingredients used, we may ask them to ship these items to you direct. This means you receive the freshest product possible (as many are hand made) and also means that we do not hold onto stock which is unlikely to sell beyond a certain BBE date.
Most of the products we stock have a 1-3 year shelf life however if we feel a product is better placed sent to you direct, then this is what we will do. We only ever work this way with Brands we trust and whose standards of customer care are as high as our own.
- If we have sold out of one or two of the items you have ordered we may decide to send the rest of your order first and then send out a subsequent parcel once the other items are back in stock. If this happens, we will always email you first.
Do any of your skin and body care products contain parabens?
No. Our product selection policy means that you will not see any of the following synthetic ingredients used in any of our skin and body care products:
No parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) or SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate), methylisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone, artificial colour, artificial fragrance, and genetically modified ingredients.
In some cases our products mention "parfum". This term can be confusing as it often means that the fragrance is synthetic. However, many natural brands use this term when a blend of essential oils have been used to fragrance the product. Other brands use naturally derived fragrances which have been extracted chemically. Where possible we prefer to offer you products which have used pure essential oils as their fragrance, however we are aware that this is not always practical so we also accept "naturally derived" fragrances as well.
Our products are cruelty free and their ingredients have not been tested on animals. We always give you full ingredient lists so you can make an informed choice about what you buy from us.
We believe this to be very important especially if you have allergies and/or skin sensitivities.
Beyond this, we strive to choose the best natural products we can find using the finest ingredients Mother Nature provided.
In addition to your 100% Natural Soy Candles you also have your “fairly-traded” Dalit Candles using a “beeswax blend”. What does this mean?
Dalit Candles use a beeswax blend in all their candles along with natural oils for fragrance; either lavender or coconut. The majority of the wax used is pure beeswax. Dalit Candles did try using 100% beeswax, however, the burn time and stability of the candles wasn’t working so a decision was made to include a very small percentage of paraffin wax in with the beeswax.
We would therefore advise you refrain from using these candles in a very confined space such as a bathroom, if you are at all concerned about the possible adverse effects of paraffin wax. Use instead in a well ventilated room or alternatively use the Dalit Candle and D-light Holder range as a fabulous addition to your outdoor space or garden.
